I explore this topic as i read CM of Sabah to preserve ethnicity for sake of future generation!

Ethnicity is the surest path to extinction! Regardless of race! You develop ethnicity within a community to preserve your unique culture!
While local chinese do have alot of ethnicity, lately local chinese no longer restrict their children to marry within their own ethnic! Why, because the breeding pool within ethnic has dwindled alot!

In fact alot of chinese men have married malay ladies in recent times! And sure enough, their offspring are now under 'malay' category!

My son married iban lady! They now have a daughter and very fortunately she is registered as bumi!

Sabah Sarawak bumis are actually quite low in population! Even if you combine bumis in Sabah Sarawak, you barely get 2 millon! This is way too low!

I did ask my undercover neighbour about this! He said that Sabah bumis are actually under 'endangered species'! Meaning if they continue to remain within their ethnicity, then there won't be any bumis left in Sabah!

Sarawak also suffer the same! In fact in Sarawak, the bumis there do have difficulty in finding spouse as most them are related one way or another!
And you know interbreeding is bad! You have offsprings that suffer many genetics defects!

If the bumis insist on 'preserving' their ethnicity, then they have to interbreed! Eventually you have bumis ethnics that will suffer many genetic defects!

The majority malays today are not produce of interbreeding! In fact you find most of them today are mix of many races! Gone are the days when Mahathir lamented how the genuine malays with so many genetic defects! That's why you see genuine malays enjoy killing themselves riding bicycle or motorcycle at very high speed! It's just the defective genetic doing it's job!

Today however, majority malays are very open to intermarriage as long as they identify themselves as malays!

Even whites can pass as malays as long as they speak bahasa, talk walk like malay and of course preach Islam!
Only Zakar Naik stood like sore thumb because until today, he can't even understand bahasa!

If Sabah Sarawak bumis want to remain relevant, they have to open up to other races! They have to identify themselves under one race! And register those who marry their children as bumis!
If not, then there won't be any bumis in the next 3 or 4 generation! Even those who insist to remain pure ethnic, chances of suffering genetic defects will be very high!
