Cypark Resources Bhd has received a letter of acceptance from the National Solid Waste Management Department (NSWMD) for the proposed upgrading of the landfill site's contract in Jempol, Negri Sembilan for RM14.71 million.
NSWMD is a department under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Cypark said the contract, scheduled to be completed before or on Nov 6 next year, involved work for the closure of one part of the landfill and the upgrading of the other part into a sanitary cell.
"The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net asset of Cypark for the financial year ending Oct 31, 2012," it said.
It said the contract would further strengthen the company's position as one of Malaysia's leading specialists in solid waste management and integrated environmental solution.
"This new contract is an addition to the company's existing contract previously awarded by the ministry for the safe closure and remediation of 16 landfills across the country of which four sites are also located in Negri Sembilan," it said. -- BERNAMA
