Upside for Malaysia rubber mart 'limited'

The Malaysian rubber market is expected to see low demand next week with prices ranging between 780 and 795 sen for SMR 20, a dealer said.

He said the market was worried about global economy, Europe heading for recession and China also showing signs of slowing down.

"Therefore the prices are expected to be weak next weak. Upside is limited considering there is not much demand," he said.

On a Friday-to-Friday basis, the Malaysian Rubber Board's sellers official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 lost 1.5 sen to 789.5 sen per kg while latex-in-bulk fell 10.5 sen to 563.5 sen per kg.

The unofficial sellers' closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 dropped 0.5 sen to 791 sen per kg and latex-in-bulk fell 10.5 sen to 563 sen per kg. -- BERNAMA
