Economist: Malaysia will continue to see growth

SINGAPORE: Malaysia will continue to see growth of slightly below four per cent despite the challenges faced by the world economy, said ICAEW Economic Advisor and Centre for Economist and Business Research's (Cebr) chief executive, Douglas McWilliams.
"There are two quite important challenges for Malaysia in 2013.
"First, the world trade is unlikely to grow rapidly and Malaysia as a strong exporting nation will be affected by the pace of (global) growth.
"The second is that the world economy is likely to be weak.
"Demand for tin, rubber and palm oil are likely to be relatively weak and that will also have a knock-off effects on Malaysia," he told Bernama after presenting the findings of ICAEW report at a special briefing here.
The report, entitled "Economic Insight: Southeast Asia", is produced by Cebr, ICAEW's partner and forecaster.
Commissioned by ICAEW, a professional membership organisation supporting chartered accountants around the world, the report provides its 138,000 members with a current snapshot of the region's economic performance.
McWilliams said, however, there would be growth (for Malaysia).
"We are looking at growth of about just under four per cent next year, which most countries would say it is a very good result but it is a little bit below the official expectation," he said.
On whether Malaysia was an attractive destination for investors, he said: "I think investors will continue to be interested in Malaysia because it has a lot of opportunities, skilled labour force and good infrastructure, so these things are attractive," he said. -- BERNAMA

you know market is flooded with gold diggers when students, aunties, preachers and con artists start to enter the market. They abandon their faith, their goodie-two-shoes stance, their upbringing and even their race and surname when it comes to pursuing Mammon! Usually a good time to exit, but I believe that the finest hours are still ahead of us despite all the gloom! May Najib proves me wrong by losing the general election! :)

Market is setting itself up for a big fall again. Climbing last few trading days. Careful in buying! Its suppose to be after election climb. Buyers are there, but one should be smart over this! Me just waiting those prophets of doom coming back again.

This is where TA analyses will tell you market is on rebound, and one should start buying. think Buffett will not be salivating on prospects such as these but waiting for opportunity again. all i see is double makan for the so-called sharks when selling in earnest comes again for GE!
careful what you buy! and buy strong stocks! market is behaving very unusual to me, especially when foreign retailers are all staying at sidelines!

yeah, so the BN strategists have made index low since the 19-days sell outs! but scenario is still market has yet to call for election! some bravehearts foreign funds are buying, especially blue chips, but you can see from market, most are still penny stocks in play! like today vol 204mn and price vol 161.093mn as of this moment of posting. very likely goreng for one more big makan before election!
