U Mobile Sdn Bhd is aiming to achieve a share of between 15 and 20 per cent of subscribers in five years, from the current 10 per cent, said chief executive officer Jaffa Sany Ariffin.
He said the growth would be driven by the introduction of new products, tailored to the meet the needs of customers following the collaboration with SAS, a business analytics software and services company.
He was speaking to reporters today at the signing ceremony for the integration of SAS' Visual Analytics solution into U Mobile's operations in the country.
Jaafa Sany signed on behalf of U Mobile while SAS was represented by its managing director Andrew Tan.
Under the agreement, SAS will provide the telco's executives an immediate access to real-time consumer behaviour data for significantly more informed business decisions.
"The data will enable us to analyse customers' behaviour to offer a better product that cater to their needs," he said.
U Mobile will be monitoring the amount of time spent by customers on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter as a way of analysing the consumer's behaviour through the analytics solution provided by SAS.
"We will have an in-depth analysis of our customers' profiling, behaviour and usage patterns for the next six months with the system and we will come up with various products such as data plan to satisfy our customers' needs," said Jaffa Sany.
U Mobile has a customer base of four million currently and is bullish on increasing the number by year-end.
"The partnership with SAS will perfectly position U Mobile to make better-informed business decisions moving forward," he said.
The agreement between the two companies was for a period of one year, beginning this year, said Jaffa Sany.
