MALAYSIA Airlines (MAS) and American Airlines (AA), both members of the oneworld alliance, have enhanced their current codeshare agreement by adding 260 domestic flights to and from Los Angeles (LAX) and New York (JFK), in the Uni-ted States.

MAS Group chief executive offi-cer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said the national airline is pleased to offer its guests more connections across the US through their codeshare partner AA.

"Travel seamlessly on 'MH' code flights on a number of domestic services operated by AA between Los Angeles and New York to major cities like Austin, Dallas, Washington, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, St Louis and more," he said in a statement yesterday.

MAS initially signed a codeshare agreement with AA in March last year - codesharing to five cities in the US.

This grew to 16 cities with close to 200 flights per week.

From next month onwards, 11 more cities will be added via Los Angeles and New York, which will eventually add another 260 domestic flights.

In addition, MAS will codeshare on AA services to Dallas from Hong Kong and Seoul from Friday and July 24, respectively.

MAS customers can fly on AA's trans-Pacific services via Tokyo,
Incheon and Hong Kong to Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago, before proceeding to other cities in the US.

"For MAS passengers flying trans-Atlantic, connections on AA from London, Paris and Frankfurt will connect to New York, Dallas, Miami, Chicago and Raleigh Durham, and more domestic destinations from there," the statement added. Bernama

Anyone dare to take this? Better make sure your will is written before boarding.
MAS has a record of missing flight. American has always been terrorist target.

MAS will just keep on losing customers because of lack of direct flights. The code sharing with One World just leaves you to fly with airlines you don't want to fly with
