KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit fell against the US dollar today on selling of the local note.
At 6pm, the ringgit ended at 3.9245/9275 against the greenback, from 3.9070/9100 on Wednesday.
"Declining oil prices also caused the ringgit to fall at today's close," a dealer said.
However, the ringgit closed mostly higher against a basket of other major currencies.
It rose against the Singapore dollar to 2.9496/9523 from 2.9614/964 yesterday, and climbed versus the yen to 3.5759/5789 from 3.5811/5849 previously.
It strengthened against the euro to 4.7993/7041 from 4.8248/8292 on Thursday, but slid against the British pound to 5.4394/4439 from 5.4389/4447. - BERNAMA
