KUALA LUMPUR: Samaiden Group Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Samaiden Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM52 million main contract from Legasi Green Power Sdn Bhd to develop a 14 megawatt (MWac) large-scale solar photovoltaic (LSSPV) power plant in Sungai Petani, Kedah.
The group said the scope of the work includes the design, supply, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning related to the project.
"Work will commence upon the signing of the letter of award today and is expected to be completed within 12 months, by August 2025, or within any extended period as provided in the award," the company said in a stock exchange filing.
Samaiden noted that the defect liability period for the project is 36 months from the date of commercial operations, subject to approval from Tenaga Nasional Bhd and the Energy Commission.
It added that barring any unforeseen circumstances, the award is expected to contribute positively to the company's future earnings during the project period, and will not affect the company's share capital or the shareholdings of its substantial shareholders.
