Description

HPI Resources Berhad is principally engaged in investment holding. It operates in four segments: Packaging, which is engaged in manufacturing and sale of packaging materials; Paper milling, which is engaged in manufacturing of recycled paper and board products; Transportation, which is engaged in provision of lorry transportation services, and Others, which is engaged in investment holding. The Company operates in Malaysia and Cambodia. On July 23, 2008, the Company acquired 96.06% interest in Trio Paper Mills Sdn Bhd. On September 2, 2008, the Company through its wholly owned subsidiary company, Harta Packaging Industries Sdn Bhd (HPISB)'s wholly owned subsidiary, Harta Packaging Industries (Selangor) Sdn Bhd (HS) to acquired additional 13.31% equity interest in Fibre Pak Malaysia Sdn Bhd (FP). Subsequently on January 19, 2009, HPISB and HS disposed of 40% and 13.31% equity interest respectively in FP.
