Why authority allowed IWC to suspend trading ?

Since we already have auto stop trading system in place, why the authority allowed IWC to suspend it's trading for two days ? You can't stop trading just bcos your share price will fall, and deny traders' chance to free their cash. But apparently, they can. So, from now on, every company can follow this, and suspend their trading if there is any bad news ?

Possibly to avoid margin call on both front for certain shareholders. Margin call on one major fall counter like yesterday is bad enough. So need to have damage control in place

if US market crash yesterdays, can all companies suspend their trading today so it won't fall ? Ridiculous. But anyway, i didn't have any shares in IWC.

resillien911, they suspended it b4 market open yesterday. but then, investors has been denied the chance to get out and free their cash for another counters. Also, i think reason for suspension is not strong enough, as the cancel of Bandar Malaysia deal is a fact not rumours, so they should let the market decide instead of suspension.

hiu chee keong, u r spot on.. setting a precedent.. for 2 days somemore.. i really dislike this practice in our malaysia bolehland.. in USA, no such practice is allowed. they closed for a couple of days during Sept 11 strike, that's all.. not like IWCITY's case one..

Well, there is dispute between cancelation statement by TRX and IWH. So trading is suspended to make clear of the isssue. Why trade in uncertainty. When the proposed merger occurred between IWH -IWC they did suspend. So the involved party is directly linked and suspend is needed. It's not because of counter limit down or up art the opening.

yes transparency issue n selective decision making.. n that my fren is what's troubling our beloved country. we cud have been like south korea n singapore, progressing economically n financially; but we r not.. bcz of leakages n many other issues. our country cud be better managed..

Yes, since they called the suspension. somehow if they do not have good reason on this weekend, the drop is much more serious. Risky move.

The request for suspension is made under subparagraph 3.1(a)(ii) of Practice Note 2 on Requests for Suspension of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Securities (“Listing Requirements”) pursuant to the receipt of a letter from Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn. Coz they have totally NO GROUND to suspend the trading at all, and furthermore for 2 FREAKING DAYS.
Come on, what type of announcement you make need 2 days time?

History in the past shows that the more he manipulator try to suspense the listing, seller will dump at what ever price available when listing resume.

Malaysia is a land where everyone oso tutup mata if you got the connection.
For eg when a substantial shareholders buy or sell shares and delay in reporting it to the company, and you complain to SC, they will tell you its Bursa Malaysia's job since the old law regarding changes in substantial shareholding had been abolished.
So basically when you are a majority shareholder and you buy or sell shares without declaring, it is no longer violating the law, it is just violating Bursa Malaysia's listing regulation, where there is NO JURISDICTION power at all.

IWH consortium rebutted claims it had failed to pay,so where the money gone to????....IWCity didn't issue statement to extend suspension pending investigation ar? hahaha
