The UNHCR reported recently that there are nearly 150,000 refugees and asylum-seekers currently residing in Malaysia. Without legal access to the employment, many refugees are unable to find work to support themselves and their families.

However, a recent statement from Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed has opened up the possibility that refugees will have legal access to the job market.
