In the past few years, Australia has come under criticism from human rights organizations over its offshore processing system for refugees and migrants who arrive by sea. This comes after news investigations exposed abusive conditions present in the detention camps. 

Today on Current Affairs, we explore why Australia maintains its offshore detention centers and what will happen to refugees detained there.
