North Korea and its notorious supreme leader, Kim Jong-un, have been dominating global headlines recently. The issues involve the assassination of Kim Jong-Nam at KLIA2 last month, known to be his half-brother. The motive of the killing, however, is still unclear.

Pyongyang has also begun its new round of missile testings and nuclear program. Although the US intelligence community is closely watching the regime's programs, there is little ability to predict what Kim Jong-un and his administration decide to do next.

Today on Current Affairs, we delve into the country’s political structure to understand the motives behind Kim Jong-un’s actions.

This is a report by Emir Zainul and Wan Irdina.

This is Part 2 of our analysis on the political structure of North Korea. You can listen to Part 1 here.
