Today, the Election Commission meets to decide on the date for Nomination and Polling Day which will see close to 15 million voters making their choice about who they want to lead them. While some are concerned that the recently passed redelineation exercise has created an even more uneven playing field, the Federal opposition remains committed to the process. Our guest has written on Malaysian politics and in particular how the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional has held on to power by its “extensively manipulation” of the electoral system.

why fix polling date on May 9th? so that those outstation would not return to their hometown to cast their votes???

Those industries with trade unions should demand 2 days unrecorded leave for outstation staff to vote.

The EdgeGroup have already declared Holiday and an additional day before or after election for those outstation bound. Hope many companies will follow.

Date 9 May 2018 also very unlucky date for Chinese. 9+5 = 14. Chinese Unlucky Number 14. Number 14 is considered to be the worst number among all the unlucky numbers. In cantonese it is "cheong cheong kau kau" which means long long 9 9.
Lasting very very long time!
Since 9 is forever any number multiples with 9 - the sum total always end with 9

3 x 9 = 27 = 2 + 7 = 9
4 x 9 = 36 = 3 + 6 = 9
8 x 9 = 72 = 7 + 2 = 9
Or 2 digits x 9
13 x 9 = 117 = 1 + 1 + 7 = 9
85 x 9 = 765 = 7 + 6 + 5 = 18 = 1 + 8 = 9
Or 3 digits x 9 (Chose any random numbers with your calculators and try?)
737 x 9 = 6,633 = 6 + 6 + 3 + 3 = 18 = 1 + * = 9

SO WE SEE HERE THAT MATHS IS A VERY ACCURATE SUBJECT.
NOW MAY 9 Could Mean 5+9 = 14
But in numeric we always end with the lowest denominator of 1 digit
So 5+9 = 14 = 1+4 = 5
AND THIS IS THE DIVINED NUMBER
WHAT IT'S IN STORE FOR MALAYSIA?
IT WILL BE A VERY UNCERTAIN ELECTION AS NO ONE CAN SAY FOR SURE 100% WHO WILL WIN - BN or PAKATAN

Malaysian mentality today is backward as compare to Indonesia, Thailand and Philippine. Countries like Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Japan and China are much advance now. Sad to compare with China. Even though China is a communist country, the government is taking care of their citizen much better than Malaysia. Quote one example, today Qindao local government have this year a budget of USD 2 billions to beautify their city with their own local government income. They refurbish all their public toilets, bicycle lane, community hall, rubbish collection etc.
The people can feel the changes, people can feel their life are better in a very short time.They know they are govern by trusted and capable leaders.
DAP and PKR are so proud of their successful state in Penang and Selangor. But if you compare with China, may be is like the land and the sky. If compare with state govern by BN is like hell and heaven.
Robert Kouk migrated to China 40+ years ago was from hell to heaven, very smart and foresight man indeed even during 1970+ many regard Malaysia as heaven and China is hell.
