Studies with animals to look at learning and memory have led to Nobel Prizes. One of the more recent ones was the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for the discovery of our "inner GPS" based on studies on rats, which we have discussed on Episode 3 of Brain Waves.
