As reported in an NPR report and a SCMP article the "scholars", in the Indian Science Congress made some unscholarly claims about how an ancient demon-king had planes and that India had been making test-tube babies for thousands of years. How did a prestigious science platform end up spouting pseudoscientific ideas?
Correction: It was Sohini C's South China Morning Post article that referenced a press clarification about why one of the speakers might have told mythological stories around science, and not the NPR article.
