Stories of landlords who only rent to a certain race and difficulty in finding property in Malaysia are abundant, despite the fact there’s an oversupply of homes and not enough people to fill them. Speedrent, an online rental platform, aims to change all that not just by creating a more “colorblind” process, but also eliminating the middleman altogether. We speak to founder Wong Whei Meng about creating a cleaner renting experience, the backlash his app gets from property agents, and the idea of being a disruptor in the property sphere.
