Feminism, according to Oxford, is the advocacy of equality of the sexes and the establishment of the political, social, and economic rights of the female sex. But in recent years, there seems to be a negative connotation to “feminism.” Not only do some actively push back against feminism, others, even some who support gender equality, do not like being labelled as a feminist. But why? On the first episode of Today I Learned, we explore feminism with Sivananthi Thanenthiran. What exactly is it? And why do some see it as a dirty word.

Feminism is another form of extremism. The members are only women who perceive that they are being ill treated and discriminated in every little matters. They make a big fuss and create a gap and sour taste in relationship with the opposite sex. Some of their causes borders on intolerance.
