A new policy was recently announced that returning Umrah pilgrims are required to self-isolate themselves at a designated quarantine facility, following the news that a large number of Umrah travellers had tested positive for the Omicron Covid-19 variant, and had not followed proper SOPs to self-quarantine. This has led to public outrage of the high hotel quarantine costs Umrah travellers have to bear. We look into this.
