In Budget 2023, the Prime Minister highlighted the rising incidence of online fraud, citing that some 25,000 cases were recorded last year involving losses totalling RM850 million. Bank Negara will also require all banks to add a "kill switch" that will let account holders freeze their accounts when suspicious activity is detected. What other policy measures would help to prevent financial losses resulting from unscrupulous online schemes?
