The 2011 Budget will boost confidence in the country's economy and private investment, Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said today.
The 2011 Budget will be tabled on October 15 this year.
'The budget will boost confidence, private investment and economic recovery,' he said after attending Halal Development Corporation's Hari Raya Open House here, today.
Narrowing the country's budget deficit would also be a priority, he said. Malaysia aims to reduce the budget deficit from 5.6 per cent in 2010.
On the Economic Transformation Plan, Mustapa said that once the programme and projects come on stream, the ministry will create a mechanism for regular monitoring.
Every detail will be looked into regularly, together with the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Idris Jala, he said. -- Bernama
