KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 14): Maxis Bhd is launching a new range of plans with 5G services from Tuesday (Aug 15), following the execution of the access agreement it inked with Digital Nasional Bhd to subscribe for the latter's 5G network on a wholesale basis.

The group, which is the last of the country's mobile network operators to execute the 5G access agreement with DNB, said in a statement that the upgraded plans come with more than double the data for both 4G and 5G, as well as additional bonus data for 5G.

"The plans are designed to meet the increasing digital needs of both consumers and businesses, especially for video content consumption and productivity tools. We are excited to bring 5G plans to our customers following our shareholders' approval at the extraordinary general meeting today (Monday, Aug 14), and the subsequent signing of the access agreement with DNB.

"Our plans offer attractive value for all segments, with a focus on affordability and adoption so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of 5G," said Maxis chief executive officer Goh Seow Eng.

The plans comprise Maxis Postpaid with 5G from RM79 to RM199 per month, Maxis Business Postpaid with 5G, Hotlink Postpaid and Prepaid with 5G from RM45 per month or as low as RM15 per week, and Maxis Home Wifi with 5G for RM158 per month.

Maxis shares closed one sen or 0.25% higher at RM3.94 on Monday (Aug 14), valuing the group at RM30.86 billion.
