IOI Corp Appoints Tan Kean Hua as New Deputy CEO

KUALA LUMPUR (June 18): IOI Corporation Bhd (KL:IOICORP) has appointed Tan Kean Hua as its new deputy chief executive officer effective July 1.

In a filing to the bourse on Tuesday, the group said Tan had previously been the executive director of IOI Oleochemical Industries Bhd since April of 2011.

In his new capacity as deputy group CEO, Tan will oversee all resource-based manufacturing activities within the IOI group including oleochemials, refineries, palmwood, Bunge Loders and joint ventures for paper pulp.

From March 2010 to 2017, Tan was the chairman of Malaysian Oleochemical Manufacturers Group.

He was also the chair of Asean Oleochemical Manufacturers Group twice during this period.

Tan had also been a board member for three terms for the Malaysian Palm Oil Board.

IOI Corp said prior to joining the group in 2004, Tan had held a senior marketing position in an oleochemicals multinational company.

Tan holds a Master's in Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Bath-Malaysian Institute of Management.

He is also a Chartered Chemical Engineer (Fellow) by the Institution of Chemical Engineers, United Kingdom, as well as qualified as a Chartered Engineer by the Engineering Council of the United Kingdom.

Tan holds 41,000 ordinary shares (direct interest) in IOI Corp.
