KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 26): The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has appointed former chief secretary to the government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali as its chairman effective Sept 1, 2024.

He replaces Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir, who has held the post since May 1, 2020. Ahmad Badri was formerly the secretary-general of the Treasury.

In a statement on Monday, EPF said it extends its heartfelt appreciation to Ahmad Badri for his leadership and significant contributions, which have positioned the retirement fund for sustained excellence.

“At the same time, the board of directors would like to welcome and congratulate Mohd Zuki, whose extensive experience in the government sector and strategic direction will continue to drive the EPF to greater heights. The EPF will continue to play an important role in safeguarding the financial well-being and retirement savings of members, to build a better retirement future,” it added.

It was reported that Mohd Zuki was appointed as the 15th chief secretary to the government on Dec 31, 2019, and had officially retired from the public service on Aug 9 of this year.
