Banned from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat, Donald Trump won't be able to return to Twitch anytime soon either.

The video game streaming platform confirmed its decision to delete the former president's account indefinitely. Twitch had already sanctioned the president's account following the Capitol Hill riots.

”We have indefinitely suspended President Trump's Twitch channel due to the ongoing risk of further incitement of violence," a Twitch spokesperson told The Verge. While he no longer holds the office of president of the United States, Donald Trump continues to represent a risk on social networks for platforms. Twitch has therefore decided to extend the suspension of the account of the former US president by banning it purely and simply.

This decision comes two weeks after the company suspended Donald Trump's account.preventing him from broadcasting live content even though his page was still accessible online. Now, it simply displays an error message, indicating that "that content is unavailable”.

"The President's statements continue to be interpreted as calls to action, and we are taking this action to remove the potential for harm to our community and the general public. Twitch has clear rules that prohibit hateful conduct, harassment, or incitement of violence on our service, and we consider off-service events when making enforcement decisions. However, the events of the past weeks have highlighted a gap with respect to rhetoric that encourages violence, regardless of whether or not it was directly streamed on Twitch. We will be updating our policies as a result of our consideration of this situation," indicates the statement from the streaming platform.

Because of the nature of the ban, Donald Trump will have no way to challenge it and will not be able to create a new account until the suspension is lifted, says The Verge.

Following the riots on Capitol Hill on January 6, social networks followed each other in announcing measures to counter Donald Trump, accused of inciting violence in Washington. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and YouTube all banned the 45th president, reopening the debate about censorship on social networks.
