For GE14 on 9 May 2018, 4 political parties got together to form Pakatan Harapan (PH) to fight Barisan National which has been controlling the Government since Merdeka in 1957. The 4 parties comprised multiracial PKR, the Chinese-led Democratic Action Party (DAP), Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's Malay-based Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, and Parti Amanah Negara, a moderate Islamic party.

During GE 14, I helped each of the 4 parties financially and I even campaigned for Pakatan Harapan. PH won the right to form the Government with the understanding that after 2 years Dr Mahathir would let Dato Seri Anwar to be Prime Minister. But after PH ruled for 22 months he pulled out his support for PH as he did not want Anwar to be Prime Minister. Pakatan Harapan collapsed because Mahathir refused to back Anwar.

With the collapse of the PH government in less than 2 years time (22 months only), Tun M was not able to fulfill his obligation that DSAI will replace him as the the PM in 2 years time then. His promise was frustrated by the breakup of that coalition government because he is deemed sincere and any attempt to prove otherwise is just futile and not enforceable in our Court of Justice here.
