Legendary actor and singer Bowie Wu finally held his delayed concert on Nov 12 at the Hong Kong Coliseum. The concert, to commemorate his 90th birthday, was scheduled for September, but the Hong Kong actor was down with coronavirus and had to postpone.

At the concert, Wu was surprised with the appearances of his two famous godsons – singer Jacky Cheung and actor Nick Cheung. Both godsons took the stage to sing with Wu. However, it was Jacky's time on stage that moved Wu to tears.

The 61-year-old singer – the final guest of the evening – came on stage when Wu was singing Jacky's hit Love Is Eternal.

Surprised - and touched - to see Jacky, Wu started to cry and had difficulty continuing to sing. Luckily the Heavenly King was on hand to help finish the number. After their duet, Jacky then dropped on his knees to kowtow to Wu.

"It's been very long since I knelt before someone, other than my wife. I wish you a Happy Birthday, and hope that you'll stay healthy and live a long life," the singer said, as quoted by Hong Kong media.

Wu started his acting career in the 1950s and has appeared in many Hong Kong movies including The Haunted Cop Shop, which also featured Jacky.

In an interview earlier this year, the sprightly Wu attributed his good health to walking.

"I walk every day and do calisthenics. I walk for at least an hour or two a day. Sometimes I try to sing as I walk, shake my hands and legs, and often move my body and walk to promote blood circulation," said Wu, adding that he picked up this habit since he was 21.

Both the legs together have 50% of the nerves the human body, 50% of the blood vessels and 50% of the blood is flowing through them. It is the largest circulatory network that connects the body.

Only when the feet are healthy then the convention current of blood flows, smoothly, so people who have strong leg muscles will definitely have a strong heart.

Aging starts from the feet upwards

As a person gets older, the accuracy & speed of transmission of instructions between the brain and the legs decreases, unlike when a person is young.

In addition, the so-called Bone Fertilizer Calcium will sooner or later be lost with the passage of time, making the elderly more prone to bone fractures. Bone fractures in the elderly can easily trigger a series of complications, especially fatal diseases such as brain thrombosis.

Do you know that 15% of elderly patients generally, will die maximum within a year of a thigh-bone fracture!! Exercising the legs, is never too late, even after the age of 80 years.

Although our feet/legs will gradually age with time, exercising our feet/ legs is a life-long task. Only by regular strengthening the legs, one can prevent or reduce further aging. Please walk for at least 30-40 minutes daily to ensure that your legs receive sufficient exercise and to ensure that your leg muscles remain healthy.

I am nearly 90 years old. 15 months ago, I tore my left Achilles tendon and twisted my right knee. My orthopedic surgeon told me if I didn’t walk, I would die within 6 months.

I look at my computer every day. After about 1 hour, I will stand up to walk for a few minutes. I also walk every evening for about 20 minutes. At my age, I have difficulty in walking, but I must not stop walking.

The computer improves my mental health and walking improves my physical health.
