"people want to invest, they want to be successful.......they need to have big dreams, and grit....and of course, knowledge and mind set."

Different era, different right strategy.....

The era of investment books and gurus written after the Great Depression and by gurus such as B Graham is useful then, but meaningless in this era.

We are in the boiling the frogs era, 10 years after  the Central Banks have printed enormous amounts of money which found their way to the financial markets. We are living in the Trump era of protectionism, trade wars and are made to feel like we are witnessing the boiling of  frogs. This is the era of inflated asset prices.

If you find B Graham kind of opportunities, it is probably because you have missed some thing ( some negatives stuffs you are not aware)  not because others have missed some thing. This is an era of information overload , not an era of information deficiency.

Value investing because the PE is low?......probably because the future earnings will decline......

Value investing because NTA is high?.....probably governance is an issue or the going concern basis is questionable.

Value investing is meaningless in this era......Better to be smart......This is an era to question every assumption,....to practise critical thinking , ( critical thinking is in short supply and you can make money if  your critical thinking skills is of a higher order than your competitors).

Forget about value investing if you want to make money from the stock market.....focus all your attention on quality .....quality  of the business, of management and owners and that they do respect minority shareholder rights.

Trade....learn to trade....plenty of opportunities to trade.......stock market is a Game...games people play.....it is not a maths puzzle for mathematicians to solve.........

well...I am back from my holidays.....sold off all my trading positions ( except Sendai) before I went for my holidays, as I said I would........

I can choose and pick, but KC's value investing is not going to be one of the tools.

""""trade wars like boiling a frog.....there was a time, the intense trade war between US-China would have freaked out the market....but like boiling a frog, the market seems to have adjusted to it.....but boiling a frog is still boiling a frog and the frog still dies at the end, whether the frog jumps or not........I just feel the whole world is like boiling a frog experience.....and no confidence in American politics.""""""

Do you keep separate Trading Accounts and Investment Accounts?

I think you should. I think it is a very good habit. It forces more thinking, more reviews, reduces careless mistakes..

one of the hot stocks this morning was Gamuda.....lol....short term a lot of speculative interest.....longer term, they will be lucky to stay above $2.

Gamuda will be hoping MACC do not call them up to account for the profits siphoned during MRT1 and the 40% MRT2 portion.

Yes, short term for 5 to 10years you can do better than value investing. But value investing will beat your performance of given enough time.
