KLSE.MY - Public Contributions? Membership Fee? Why not Bursa\MSWG sponsored it?

I want to voice up my opinion on the recent closure on the klse.my website.

I read fairuzzz's post - http://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/fintech/99535.jsp and he suggested klse.my to either accept contributions from public or collect membership fees from public in order to operate the website.

I will support the first idea but not the second. We love klse.my because it is a good website and it is free. It provides everyone a fair access to the important information that we need. If klse.my is charging a fee it will be just another paid service in our market.

I still puzzle me why is bursa not considering waiving the license fee for websites like klse.my to operate and serve the public, since free investment information such as this will encourage more participation from retail investors? Isn't this align with bursa interest to growth the retail participants?

If the license fee can't be waived due to certain issues, I believe bursa or other agencies like MSWG should consider sponsoring the equivalent amount to klse.my to allow it to continue to serve the retail investors.

Salam Aidilfitri dan Salam 1Malaysia!

klse.my did level up the playing field so far in favour of the retailers, esp the newbies. To shut it down will definitely disadvantage the latter in making good investment decisions and thus lose heavily to call it quit eventually. With less newbies who will be groomed to become savvy investors later and also the savvy ones will leave for foreign bourses, who will be the biggest loser? Bursa Saham and our government for dwindling gst tax n stamp duty which is more costly than the brokerage commission.
