PASIR MAS: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's first visit to Kelantan is proof of Federal Government's commitment to forge good cooperation with the state government.

This, Anwar said, has proven that he was ready to cooperate with everyone, including the opposition-led states.

"My visit to Kelantan today proves that l am willing to cooperate with everyone. As I have told you before, my duty as the prime minister is to administer and manage the country as best as possible.

"My responsibility after being entrusted (the position) is to manage it well regardless which state," he said at a press conference after visiting flood victims at SMK Tengku Panglima Raja relief centre here today.

He said his focus in Kelantan was to address the flood issue that had severely affected the people.

Anwar said he was open to discussion with Kelantan Menteri Besar Kelantan Datuk Ahmad Yakob on the state's development issue.

"I welcome him to my office or home to discuss the state's direction. This is important for the interests of the people and development in the state," he added.

Also present at the conference were Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and Ahmad.

Earlier, Anwar spent about 30 minutes attending the briefing on the latest flood situation from Kelantan Drainage and Irrigation director Kamal Mustapha.
