CYBERJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed that he had received threats from European Parliamenterians on Malaysia's stance in the Palestine-Israel conflict, but he remains unfazed. 

He said he would be explaining on the statements that were made by the politicians including a proposal by an European politician later.

He remained mum on the type of threat received, whether it was a security or economic pressure. 

"(The threats are) from European Parliamenterians. We will give a clear explanation on the statements made and there is also a proposal by an European Parliamentarian.

"It is not an issue.. we should not be bothered. We have work, so we carry on.

"On our side, we have to voice out Malaysia's stance," he said briefly to reporters after launching the National Language Decade Carnival and National Reading Decade. 

Last night, Anwar said despite receiving criticism from pro-Israel countries, especially the United States, Malaysia will not retract its support for Gaza and the Palestinians.

Separately, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain told Bernama that the security for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be increased following his disclosure regarding numerous threats he received due to his outspoken advocacy for Palestine.
