KOTA KINABALU: The chief minister wants the people to work together to develop the state instead of ridiculing the "Sabah Maju Jaya" (SMJ) slogan.

Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the slogan carried a profound message.

"In essence we need to be diligent, especially as responsible civil servants, to make Sabah more prosperous and its people more progressive.

"Regardless of the issues and challenges ahead, we need to face them together with resilience and wisdom.

"Do not easily be influenced by instigation or provocation by parties who only wish to see us continue to quarrel. We need to focus on making Sabah more prosperous and successful," he said during a gathering of state and federal civil servants at the Sabah International Convention Centre here.

Hajiji said Sabah continues to be on the right development path three years after SMJ was launched.

"Last year, state government revenue was the highest in history at RM6.973 billion."

He said this came after outstanding performances in the two preceding years - RM5.449 billion in 2021 and RM6.960 billion in 2022.

"This success is driven by the hard work of civil servants who have performed their duties excellently," he said.
