KUALA LUMPUR: No "representatives" of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had given Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin a daft agreement on constituency funds, says Fahmi Fadzill.

The unity government spokesman said he had checked with the Prime Minister’s Office on the matter and he confirmed that no draft agreement was given to the Opposition.

"“The PM’s senior political secretary did not provide any draft and I contacted a few other political secretaries, there were none," said Fahmi during a press conference in Parliament on Monday (March 25).

Fahmi was responding to claims by Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal that Anwar supplied a draft agreement on constituency funds to Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin via a representative.

Fahmi then trained his guns on Wan Ahmad for making such claims.

"We refer to official channels. If the Machang MP does not know about this issue, he should just keep his mouth shut," said Fahmi.

Fahmi also said Wan Ahmad probably made those claims to back Hamzah, who on March 22 had claimed that the Opposition received a draft document detailing matters pertaining to allocations for Opposition MPs.

"I'm not sure if the Machang MP printed his own draft, because he once proposed to print more money to solve problems facing the national economy," added Fahmi.

Wan Ahmad Fayhsal, in a statement Monday (March 25), claimed that the purported draft agreement was kept secret, even after Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof met with Hamzah in Parliament on March 19.

Previously, Hulu Terengganu MP Datuk Rosol Wahid claimed that Perikatan Nasional asked for RM3.5mil in annual allocations for its MPs and the terms of the draft agreement included a RM300,000 annual allocation for the management of MP service centres.
