BINTULU: The Sarawak government reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing school infrastructure across the state, aiming to improve educational quality and integrate modern agricultural practices, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit reported.

The announcement was made by Sarawak Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom during the official opening of the Covered Court and Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri event at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Batu Tellingai.

Stephen emphasised the importance of up-to-date facilities in schools to foster academic excellence and technological adeptness among students.

"Today's generation is increasingly proficient with emerging technologies, making essential the integration of advanced online educational resources and tools in our teaching frameworks," he said.

In addition to educational improvements, the minister highlighted the role of updated infrastructure in agriculture, which is pivotal for increasing crop productivity and ensuring a stable food supply.

He cited the development of specialised Rural Growth Centres, like the one in Padawan focusing on premium coffee, as critical to this initiative.

The event also saw a donation of RM30,000 to the school's Parents and Teachers Association from Stephen, demonstrating ongoing support for educational initiatives.
