JOHOR BARU: Johor menteri besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has extended his congratulations to incoming Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on behalf of the state government. 

He posted the message on his official Facebook account following Wong's swearing-in as the island republic's fourth prime minister. 

"Wong's new leadership marks a significant milestone in Singapore's political landscape," the post read.

He also expressed his gratitude to former Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for his contributions and efforts in fostering strong cross-border cooperation between the two regions. 

"May the strong bilateral ties continue under Singapore's new leadership for the mutual benefit of both regions," he added. 

Onn Hafiz also wished Singaporeans continued prosperity and success under Wong's administration.
