PETALING JAYA: Traffic congestion and land ownership issues faced by Kepala Gajah residents will be raised with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said he will be raising the issues with the Prime Minister through Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives deputy minister Datuk R. Ramanan.

“From Kampung Wellesley Kg Jawi, Datuk Ramanan Ramakrishnan, and I joined members of the Kepala Gajah Taman Puteri Gunung Residents Association for an interactive session.

“According to its chairman Tan Chor Soon, Kepala Gajah is currently facing traffic congestion and land ownership issues after the area was converted from a plantation to a residential area.

“As a Member of Parliament for the Unity Government, I will bring these residents' issues to the attention of the Prime Minister, with the assistance of Datuk Ramanan,” he said in a post on Facebook.

Dr Wee also highlighted the importance of preserving harmony in the nation’s diverse society and ensuring political stability, with the residents.

“To uphold the spirit of the Constitution and diversity within our community, we must choose moderate and effective candidates for the State Assembly through this by-election.

“We need to address the problems faced by the community and ensure their interests are well protected,” he added.

Also present at the session were MCA vice president and MCA Penang chairman Datuk Tan Teik Cheng; MCA Penang secretary-general Yeoh Chin Kah; MCA Penang organising secretary Datuk Tan Lee Huat; National MCA Youth vice chief Tan Yang Pang; and MCA Nibong Tebal division chairman Ooi Guan Hai.
