KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Relations Practitioners Society of Malaysia (PRactitioners), officially launched today, aims to elevate the profession by fostering ethical practices, knowledge sharing and continuous professional development.

The society was launched during a conference in conjunction with World Public Relations Day celebrations, by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil this morning.

PRactitioners aims to promote ethical conduct, foster professional development, advocate for the importance of PR, provide networking opportunities and support research in the field.

The society has garnered over 150 members, reflecting strong industry enthusiasm.

"PRactitioners established specialised bureaus to address specific industry needs, including academic, editorial and digital communication bureaus.

"Regional bureaus ensure comprehensive representation across Malaysia and maintain connections with the Malaysian PR diaspora in Europe," it said in a statement.

PRactitioners boast a distinguished group of mentors and advisors, including Puan Sri Siew Yong Gnanalingam, Datuk Yong Soo Heong, Datuk Rocky Bru, Datuk Borhanuddin Osman, among others.

These industry leaders will offer invaluable guidance to members, fostering learning, growth, and collaboration within the PR community.

The society is poised to make significant contributions locally and globally, as PRactitioners embark on reshaping Malaysia's PR landscape.

PRactitioners chairman, P Kamalanathan said this rapid growth underscores the pressing need for a dedicated professional body in Malaysia's dynamic PR landscape.

"We invite all PR professionals in Malaysia to join us in this exciting journey.

"Together, we can build a stronger, more respected, and more impactful PR industry that drives business success and societal progress," he said.
