KUALA LUMPUR: Service interruption at FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM) KLCI and FTSE Indices earlier today was due to a third party technical issue, Bursa Malaysia said.
In a statement, it said it was informed by a FTSE Russell spokesperson that the issue affected global indices.
"Bursa Malaysia was informed by a FTSE Russell spokesperson that earlier today (05:18 GMT), due to a third-party technical issue, there was a service interruption to all its indices globally.
"The interruption was resolved at 07:21 GMT. FTSE Russell believes this was related to current issues being reported by several other organisations globally, " it said.
The interruption included the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series, which was restored at 07:21 GMT/ 3:21 pm local time (MY).
"Trading on Bursa Malaysia was not affected," it said.
