KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin insists that Barisan Nasional and Umno will again become political royalty in Sabah as he rallied members ahead of the state election due next year.

But to achieve this, the Sabah Umno chief pointed out that leaders as well as the grassroots must put their heads together and be willing to roll up their sleeves.

“I am confident Barisan-Umno will be dominant once more but this must come with honesty in our struggles and hard work to achieve it,” he said when opening the Kudat Umno division’s delegates meeting on Thursday (July 25).

“It is important that we must never abandon the foundation of the party’s struggles.

“If we understand the foundation, there is no way we can leave it behind,” added the former deputy chief minister.

The Kinabatangan MP said the party was strong but strength alone without industry and the right strategy will not win the hearts of voters.

“For Umno to be successful in the 17th Sabah state election and dominant again, the grassroots must move together,” he said.

He noted that Umno’s organised structure makes it easier for the leaders and members to work in unison and strengthen the party.

“Unity among the leadership and grassroots is vital to reinforce the party’s strength,” Bung Moktar said.
