KUALA LUMPUR: The Higher Education Ministry is continuing with the MyBrain 2.0 sponsorship programme to offer wider access to education for all qualified Malaysians to pursue their postgraduate studies.

In a statement, the ministry said the first phase of the programme targeted recipients who are unemployed or do not have a fixed income.

"The programme, which is a continuation from MyBrain15,  also targets lecturers from private higher learning institutions to further their studies at 20 public universities."

This, the ministry said, is in line with the government's aspirations to empower the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

"The implementation of MyBrain 2.0 will prioritise students to further their studies in these fields, in addition to social sciences and professional literature."

The ministry also said that the MyBrain 2.0 sponsorship covers tuition fees and living allowance where the funding facility offered under the programme is one of the government's initiatives to alleviate the financial burden on students while producing graduates with high employability value.

Applications for this sponsorship will be open online from today until Aug 21 through the MyBrain 2.0 Application System at https://biasiswa.mohe.gov.my/MyBrain2.
