LAWYERS Associated Worldwide (LAW), a leading global legal network with over 4,500 legal practitioners, has appointed Leonard Yeoh of its Malaysian member firm Tay & Partners to serve on the non-profit association’s executive committee.

Yeoh who is a senior partner with Tay & Partners joins two other regional representatives in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region to represent the interests of APAC members in all matters that come before the executive committee.

He will serve in this appointed position until the next elections are held. Members in LAW’s three other regions of Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME) are each represented by three regional representatives.

“On behalf of the executive committee, I’m pleased to welcome Yeoh and look forward to the collaboration of the entire executive committee to address issues, enhanced by the diverse backgrounds of each,” enthused LAW’s chairman Leon Loganathan.

“We look forward to our 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is taking place on Oct 30-Nov 2 in Amsterdam as our next opportunity to meet in-person as the new executive committee.”

Commenting on his appointment, Yeoh said he felt privileged to be roped into the prestigious grouping of top global legal firms.

“It’s an honour to be a leader of a leading global organisation consisting of international lawyers with headquarters in the US,” he told FocusM. “This shows a Malaysian can stand tall globally to further enhance international trade and cooperation.”

Organised as a non-profit association under the Swiss Civil Code, LAW’s membership which is made up of the highest quality law firms around the globe has been recognised by Chambers & Partners as a top-tier Band 1 Global Law Firm Network since 2019 and again in 2024.

Editor’s Note: Chambers & Partners is the most prestigious legal directory that ranks the top legal firms and lawyers around the world.

With access to more than 4,500 lawyers worldwide, membership in LAW allows member firms to service the legal needs of clients that are expanding their operations and relationships into new domestic and foreign markets.

The member firms are carefully screened and selected to represent the organisation in their respective markets. All member firms have demonstrated superior service in representing middle-market companies and high net worth individuals.

Since 1989, LAW has been serving its members as a conduit for cross-border legal representation. The non-profit association is constituted under the Swiss Civil Code with its seat in Bern Muri, Switzerland, and its principal business offices in Fort Collins, in Colorado, US. - Aug 27, 2024
