KUALA LUMPUR: Airlines must prioritise safety in aircraft maintenance following a special audit by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) on Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB).

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said that he has instructed MAB and Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) to ensure all aircraft meet the highest safety standards.

"We cannot take any chances (on safety). This has been clearly communicated to both MAB and MAG," he said at a press conference today.
