KUALA LUMPUR: A major drug syndicate operating across the Klang Valley and Johor Baru has been crippled following simultaneous operations by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) last week, resulting in the seizure of RM2 million worth of drugs and RM151,416 in assets.

NCID director Datuk Seri Khaw Kok Chin confirmed that ten individuals were arrested during the raids, including a civil servant believed to be the 'mastermind'.

In 'Ops Telomian', six separate raids were carried out in Cheras and Kajang, leading to the arrest of six individuals, while in 'Ops Tosa', four further raids were conducted in Johor Baru, leading to the arrest of four more individuals.

The total drugs seized in both operations included

The total drugs seized included 55kg of syabu, 1.4kg of heroin, and 233g of cannabis, 125g of Yaba pills, and 112g of Erimin 5 pills worth RM2 million, which authorities believe could supply around 30,000 users.

Additionally, two vehicles, cash, and jewellery were confiscated from the suspects, amounting to RMM151,416

Investigations suggest the syndicate has been active since early 2024. Four of the ten suspects tested positive for methamphetamines, and seven have prior criminal records.

Authorities believe the syndicate obtained large quantities of drugs for local and international distribution.

The investigation, conducted under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, is ongoing and police are tracking remaining syndicate members.

The NCID urged the public to provide information through their hotline at 012-208 7222.
