KUALA LUMPUR: Police will not sit down to discuss their investigations into GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd with anyone, says Malaysia's top cop.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain questioned the need to hold such discussions, especially with the top management of the company at the centre of its Op Global probe.

Razarudin's comments follow a statement from GISBH executive chairman and chief executive officer Nasiruddin Mohd Ali, who claimed that no discussion was held with the management before the raids on Sept 11.

"It is procedure that once we have gathered evidence, we complete our investigation and refer it to the Attorney-General's Office for further instruction.

"If we investigate and want to discuss it (with the party under investigation), what then happens to the evidence that we have gathered?

"Let me give an example. A house is robbed, and we identify the criminal. Do I need to talk to the criminal? Is that the action that has to be taken?" he said at the Police Training Centre here today.

On Sept 14, Nasiruddin questioned the authorities' move to remove 402 children, aged 1 to 17, from its care.

He was reported as saying the authorities should have discussed the matter with them instead of "detaining" the children.

He also denied that the children were asked to sodomise others, and other allegations, including that GISBH had prepared "air berkat" using leg hairs and water.

Such claims, he said, were "baseless and disgusting".

Last Wednesday's raids saw 402 children, aged 1 to 17, being rescued from alleged exploitation and abuse.

Razarudin said the victims endured various forms of exploitation and abuse, including being sodomised.

He also said initial investigations revealed that caretakers had taught the children to sodomise other children.

GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd has since denied the allegations and any links to the case.
