PUTRAJAYA: FashionValet founders Datin Vivy Yusof and Datuk Fadzaruddin Shah Anuar arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters to have their statements recorded regarding the RM43.9mil investment losses linked to Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB).Sources said the couple arrived at around 2pm at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters here accompanied by a lawyer.
As at press time, Vivy and Fadzaruddin were still having their statements recorded.
The MACC has initiated an investigation into losses incurred by Khazanah and PNB from their investment into FashionValet, a local online fashion business.
The agency has so far called four witnesses from PNB, Khazanah and the Finance Minister to have their statements recorded.
On Monday, investigators raided several premises, including the FashionValet office, and seized several documents as part of their investigation into the case.
In a written Parliamentary reply last week, the Finance Ministry said Khazanah and PNB sold their shares in the e-commerce platform for RM3.1mil to NXBT Partners in 2023.
This contrasted with the RM47mil investment by Khazanah and PNB in 2018 (RM27mil and RM20mil respectively) for minority stakes in FashionValet.
Vivy and Fadzaruddin apologised for the losses and said they would step down from their positions in FashionValet.
Vivy was its chief executive officer, while Fadzaruddin acted as its executive director.
