KUALA LUMPUR: The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM) recently embarked on a transformative journey, evolving beyond its traditional role as an administrative body to become a catalyst for progress in Malaysia's financial landscape.
With a renewed focus on inclusion and engagement, ABM has become a dynamic platform for meaningful dialogue, fostering strategic collaboration among member banks and stakeholders.
Central to this transformation are four strategic pillars: social inclusivity, digital and technological advancement, sustainable practices, and industry development and resilience.
These pillars embody the association's efforts to keep pace with global trends while aligning with the evolving needs of its members, aspirations of Malaysia's broader landscape and national goals.
At the helm of ABM's transformation is Dr Amina Josetta Kayani, who assumed the role of executive director on April 1 this year.
Her people-centred, forward-thinking vision has energised the organisation.
Under Amina's leadership, there has been a shift in the culture that not only embraces change but does so with purpose, ensuring that the association remains open, adaptable and proactive.
Underpinning this change is a shared commitment, passion, resilience and steadfast focus to deliver impact for the banking sector and lead ABM into a new era.
ABM also recently welcomed two digital banks as members.
This reflects ABM's commitment to championing a diverse banking landscape that is progressive, inclusive and future-ready.
ABM's 50th anniversary serves as a moment to reflect on the association's legacy and its vision for the future.
ABM will celebrate this milestone with a grand gala dinner, spotlighting half a century of contributions to Malaysia's financial sector and nation-building.
Additionally, ABM will be hosting the 52nd Asean Bankers Council meeting in Kuala Lumpur, a testament to the association's growing regional presence and strengthened relationships across the region.
Through this transformative journey, ABM reaffirms its role as a catalyst for change, shaping a banking landscape that is inclusive, resilient and aligned with the aspirations of all Malaysians.
