The FBM KLCI fell sharply on extended global selldown amid heightened geopolitical risks, expectations softer fiscal outlook in the local backdrop and weaker energy prices. Market breadth was negative as decliners overwhelmed the advancers by more than six-fold, while construction-linked stocks like Gamuda (-95.0 sen), George Kent (-30.0 sen) and Sunway Construction (-23.0 sen) declined further after a series of pipeline infrastructure projects was axed.
