The FBM KLCI (+0.5%) reclaimed its crucial 1,600 level tracking the overnight gains from Wall Street; selected glove heavyweights like HARTA (+18.0 sen) and most of the banking heavyweights such as CIMB (+15.0 sen) and PBBANK (+3.0 sen) trended positively for the session. Market breadth remained positive as the gainers led the losers by 573-to-495 stocks. The construction sector (+1.0%) was the leading sector amid the positive broader market contributed by gains in IJM (+3.0 sen), EKOVEST (+2.5 sen), and JAKS (+1.5 sen), but the transportation & logistics sector (-0.6%) was the biggest declining sector.
