FBM KLCI: 1,549.05 pts (-18.48pts, -1.18%)

The FBM KLCI (-1.2%) pulled back on the first trading day of 2022, mainly due to selldown in IHH (-47.0 sen) and telecommunication heavyweights after year end window dressing activities last Friday. Market breadth, however was positive as the advancers outpaced the decliners on 485-to-436 stocks. The broader market ended mixed with the healthcare sector (-3.0%) being the biggest declining sector, dragged by IHH (-47.0 sen), TOPGLOV (-20.0 sen), and HARTA (-9.0 sen), followed by the telecommunication & media sector (-2.0%), while the plantation sector (+1.7%) was the best-performing sector.
