FBM KLCI: 1,598.92 pts (-3.49pts, -0.22%)

The FBM KLCI (-0.22%) moved a tad lower from the key 1,600 level as investors took profit on selected banking heavyweights. Market breadth, however, remained positive as the advancers thumped the decliners by 617-to-355 stocks. The energy sector (+1.77%) outperformed the broader market with HENGYUAN (+5.0 sen), PETRONM (+5.0 sen), and HIBISCS (+4.0 sen) taking the lead. Meanwhile, buying interest was noticed in the plantation (+1.66%) and transportation & logistics (+1.54%) sectors.
